Design by Arturo Alvarez Custom tailor Curvas to your own tastes in any one of 12 different colors of hand-cut stained glass. Curvas is a continuous irregularity, curved pieces that fit into each other in a subtle movement, a sensation of well-being. A warm and elegant collection. Every Arturo Alvarez stained glass diffuser is handcrafted one-by-one by trained artisans in limited series. Each Arturo Alvarez original is yours alone; no two pieces are exactly the same. Following the painstaking production process, Arturo Alvarez himself engraves his signature and the series number onto the finished diffuser, certifying that the craftsman has exceeded Arturo’s personal standards for quality. Arturo Alvarez does not manufacture lights; they create original works of art whose beauty is optimized by illumination. Stainless steel canopy and fittings. Dimensions 12.25″D X 7.25″H; 96″ over all height, can be field shortened. Uses 1 X 100W 120V E26 (medium base) incandescent lamp (not included) or energy efficient 1 X 13W 120V G24q-1 compact fluorescent lamp (not included); electronic ballast. Design by Giulio Iacchetti, 2008. Tropico has a decidedly sculptural presence, although it remains easy to interpret. It produces an all embracing, atmospheric light, thanks to the inner cylinder that filters and spreads the luminous fluorescent flow. The finishes available give two strongly contrasting effects: the ice version lets the light through, while the ivory version- which underlines the material and decorative effect of the element – recalls the almost ethnic vision of an oriental lantern. The personality can be further emphasized by inserting one of the optional color filters, with a choice of a cool violet tone or a warm orange tone. Tropico requires assembly. “Lozenges” are made of thermoplastic resin, polished chrome canopy and details. Dimensions 11.8″D X 56.8″H; 200″ maximum overall height. Uses 1 X 36W 2G11 type T5 compact fluorescent lamp (not included), electronic ballast.
